Not to bad so far

The protective conduit runs to the large side entry porch. On the exterior wall this is what you see

Since the dwelling was vacant. I shut the power down at the main

Glad I did so. The mud dauber nests were active too!

And this at the top

The interior section of a mish mash of everything everknown to carry current. K&T, Cloth covered tin coated copper, BX, NM and even a few areas of stranded.

We never made it past the foundation, probable asbestos, definite mold and a cistern situation. What was allowed to happen to this house is a sin.

Recommended further eval. by a licensed and qualified electrician, noting that the entire system will most likely have to be replaced. Comments welcomed, especially on the ground/neutral config.

To further complicate things, the wooden porch (side entry) and the second floor screened in porch is about to collapse on the whole thing

The enclosure doesn’t look like a 3R (outside) box. The neutral bus has ground wires on it (this should be a sub) and I see some double lugged neutrals.

I stopped looking. You are right, they need some prefessional intervention.
