Hi Todd,

I hope you are taking your camera with you as I know members, and myself would love to see pictures of this structure and hear about the inspection.

funnily enough we don't see too many adobe buildings here in Massachusetts ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Come on now 23 views and no advice and don't try to tell me there are no Adobe homes in Pennsylvania ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)
The Client told my one of the rooms was still original (no floor)

Hey Todd,

I have been spending a lot of time, and money ![icon_eek.gif](upload://yuxgmvDDEGIQPAyP9sRnK0D0CCY.gif) with the folks at Old Pueblo Adobe Company. They specialize in authentic Southwestern building materials. Phone 520-744-9268 ask for Rhonda Barnes. Their web is www.oldpuebloadobe.com.

In fact I have Bob signed up as a speaker at a future Southern Arizona NACHI meeting. Feel free to call me if you need more info. Great folks out there.

C'mon Todd. Arizona and New Mexico are the only states that get hot enough to cure the walls

Don’t walk on the roof if this is in its original stage the timbers and straw may not hold you. Be careful of the add on electrical (depending on when it was wired up) some of them had conduit on the outer walls with holes drilled inside and box’s just shoved in to the inner walls, some have had romax installed by takeing a radial saw and cutting grooves in the walls and then filling in the channels after the romax is installed (These are dangerous) Watch out at all electrical box’s. Is there a Dirt Floor or did they pour a slab and tile it? Watch out where you put your hands don’t reach in any openings (wear gloves) I carry a pair of Coveralls for these type of homes. If there are windows and they are from the 1800’s be careful opening them the glass from that era can be brittle in this type of structure (years in the desert heat and cold) Watch out for all kinds of critters that like to make homes in any opening they can find ( a friend of mine stuck his hand in a small opening by a main power box and got stung by a scorpian that was living there) Remember there are Scorpians, Black Widows, Trantulas etc… that like to live in the walls of these structures and Gila monsters, Rattle snakes etc… like to live around openings in the foundations of a structure this old. Take lots of pictures

icon_biggrin.gif Thank you Mr. Craig. The Client said one of the rooms was original(dirt floor)They apparently added a FAG unit and A/C I figure the duct work is strapped to the ceiling w/ plumbers tape or something similar. It will prove to be very interesting I am sure.

Thanks again
