3" PVC drain line under the kitchen sink?

I inspected a 5 year old house that had a 3" PVC drain line under the kitchen sink. Double stainless steel sink with a disposal.


Does anyone know if there is a reason for this? First time I've ever seen one. I'm thinking about calling the builder?

When I lived in FLA. We did this alot it’s mostly for island sinks.


You can use 2 pipe sizes larger than drain outlet and dont have to have a seperate vent.It vents itself

Without plumbers the world would have more crap to deal with.
