Dual citizenship. Born American, partially raised American and still have a lot of family down there. Came here in 1964. So Canadian by choice, American proud heritage.

Trump is making bank at his resort home because all of his support staff and security are being charged ridiculous fees to stay there while he is there. He is also charging for meet and greets, to the tune of $5 million each, for business owners who want his ear for favors. It’s all public info if you look. Who needs a salary with benefits like that?
I can appreciate that, but it looks like Trump may have more of an affect on your Canada residency than anything you experienced under the prior administration.
I would be concerned about both, your family in Canada and your family in the US. It’s going to be tough times for both countries.

For those wondering, that is $1,000 per citizen. Well, not really. It is $1,000 for us and compounded interest etc. for our children and grandchildren. I wouldn’t be surprised if they hate us all by the time they are adults.
