Hey Guys,

here’s a survey, and yes its very direct… but I think it will help all of us out there, compare our marketing methods, software, and personnel… try to answer all the questions in the format, so we can all check it out!

name: American Dream Home Inspection LLC
manpower: 1 - Inspector / part time business
software: Inspectvue Software
websites: home inspection USA, inspectorsguide, and my own.
yearly profit: (estimated) 25k
Area: Southern California

If you can answer these, we may be able to get a good idea on a comparison...

Justin you will find that close friends in the business won't tell you what they charge.

momma charge? ok… regarding one post.

Well, that's what I mean, no wonder our inspection industry charges so low... because if everyone is confidential about their information, then we can never truly learn what the "norm" really is.... or what techniques work better than others, websites, areas, etc...

I guess all of these stats must very.... depending on location, but what can I say... I have nothing to hide.

Justin you can rest assured that the ones that don't talk about their personal income on the WWW are probably the ones that charge a lot.

OK one price anway…I have a friend in Chicago (who does very, very well) who won’t step into a one bedroom condo for less than $400.

Wow! $400… I wonder how many clients that actually pay?

Its one thing to charge, its another thing to actually get clients…

825K a year, heck that wouldn’t even cover my expenses, I am so glad I got into the inspection business and can make the kind of money we do…and hell, we don’t really have to do anything to earn it!! Keep on marketing Michael, and your income should go up…hopefully before you go out of business on that income.

Kevin, I think you misunderstand. Justin asked for Profit, not Revenue. My Revenue number is closer to $1.2M then after deducting for expenses that leaves a Profit of about $825K. Hope that helps ![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)

Not true at all.

I did quite well last year and my numbers this year have been very good. It depends largely on the individual.

The working inspectors in my area pull in your estimated yearly profit in less than two months.

AND… If you divide the square root of your profit as proportionate to the sub total of your revenue, less expenses of course, as defined by the summary of your 3rd qtr fiscal earnings, you should be able to squeeze a few more dollars into the net profit.

Kevin B

P.S. Sorry to think that you hadn't achieved Million Dollar status yet Michael.
