A tenderfoot in Colorado

I arrived here at NACHI world headquarters last Thursday and have to say I?m smitten by ? well, pretty much everything about this part of the country. Literally smitten by the sun which is quite intense regardless of what the ambient temperature may be. My first-generation Irish skin was no match for it.

And if Florida is the Sunshine State, Colorado is the uber-Sunshine State. In short order, I purchased sun block 30, some new-agey herbal concoction of skin emollients, and a cowboy hat which is an absolute necessity in these parts.

I?m one of those Irish guys who tans ? e-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y ? if I get my sunshine in graduated doses. You know, 1 minute the first day, 2 the second ? n the nth. Here, you can be tan all year ?round.

As a former flatlander from Philadelphia, I can attest to Joe’s description of the sunshine up here at 8,300’…it’s so darn sunny most of the time that the rare gloomy days we have are a welcome break. icon_cool.gif
