I’m not sure. Don Hester of Washington state posted it. Don’s on the state board and teaches inspection at a community college in Seattle and we spent around an hour on the phone. He seemed extremely knowledgeable. He’d been a scientist specializing in hazardous materials on a very impressive scale so I took hi at his word. He was qualified in WDO, and I’m pretty sure that’s one of the things they cover in that course in that area. He said it was not uncommon.
He also mentioned this archtop shipworm guitar that doesn’t need a conventional soundhole. It’s got a spruce top too!
