Gary,

Maytag manufactures Admiral. There are four major dishwashing manufacturers in the United States:

Whirlpool

High end — KitchenAid
Low end — Roper, Kenmore

Maytag

High end — Jenn-Air, Magic Chef
Mid level — Amana
Low end — Admiral

General Electric

High end — General Electric
Low end — Hotpoint

and Frigidaire sells under its own label

I’m not familiar with the dating codes.

I had to verify this cause I thought it was a Ward’s Product:

David…GE and high end is a contradiction in terms.

Certainly not out here. Almost all of the multi-million dollar homes out here have GE appliances, usually stainless, and they are nice, nice, nice.

There is no coding in the serial number that I am aware of.

However, if you were able to read the serial number, usually right above it, off to the left or right, is the manufacture date.

Robert,

If you were a manufacturer, wouldn’t you advertise your best over the others.

GE is simply putting their brand over their sister’s brand.
