We had an excellent meeting with a lot of business successfully completed.
We made substancial revisions to the bylaws to align with HI regulations.
Very informative presentation by Mr. Sidney Manning, Alberta Municipal Affairs.
He presented the Changes to Plumbing and Gas code.
He had several samples of the new pipe that are now in use and how to recognize them and if they are being used properly.
On Nov 6 Four members attended the on site Home Inspection training. This workshop provided hands on inspection experience. The house had a secondary suite that provided a golden opportunity for the students to learn what is involved in successfully completing an inspection of a secondary suite.

Good for the Alberta Homies … Thanks Vern much appreciateed

It was a great meeting, attendance was low but we got a lot accomplished. A big thanks to everyone involved.

For those unable to attend go to hcil.ca and click on the link to secondary suites.
This is a made in Alberta building and fire code that was incorporated into the ABC.
This code is unique in that it is retroactive and as of 2008 all suites must meet this code.
Warning Some changes were made when the code was merged into ABC so check the ABC for final requirements.
