Hi to all,
Joe T, I will not be copying any string from our Steering Committee area into this thread, but I have placed a link to this discussion in the SC area and invited those members to comment. I am more than happy to hear the views of all members.

Todd:
Yes, Nick gave the OK and I am still planning on that trip to Tucson.
I am waiting for the location and date so I can make my plans.
Please check with with your Chapter President and let me know ASAP.
I will leave the "Baby Carriage" at home and come in my "1937 Harley Trike" prepared to address the HI questions concerning their electrical inspections in Arizona as ithey apply to the SOP.

Hi Blaine
I thought the SC committee and members at large already discussed it and weighed in with your decision.
Gerry's email to JoeT:
His Reply to me and CC; Nick, and Gary

Hi Joe,
sorry to have taken a while to respond to this e-mail and your comments that led up to it on the board.
I am going to let this e-mail to me stand and will not be re-instating you as a speaker at our convention next January, this is after lengthy discussions with both the steering committee and members at large. I feel that this is in our members best interests.
I take this email as the SC has already discussed it at length.
I do not know the particulars, but I have read many good things about Joe T seminar.
Not trying to ruffle any feathers, Just would like to see what the problem is.

David,
Gerry is not inviting review and comments from the membership. He was speaking of providing a link from the SC forum to this particular thread, and invited SC members to comment, so I will...
There were discussions within the Steering Committee relative to Joe T. The decision to pull him as a Convention Speaker was that of the Education Committee. The Chairperson from the Education Committee also sits on the SC. I also know that there were numerous discussions within that particular committee, as well as the NACHI Foundation, relative to Joe's continued participation in speciofic events.
Without getting into the details of any discussions which took place, it is acknowledged that Joe T is a knowledgable individual. He will likely continue to be compensated by NACHI to travel the country and educate our inspectors on code related matters.

As the person who is planning the Convention, I had many conversations with Gerry regarding Joe T and the convention. I stand behind Gerry on this decision for several reasons.
1.) We need to have our instructors lined up and in the bag. We need to have things printed out and publications made. I don't think it would be a good idea to have people that are prone to quiting on a message board and flying off the handle.
2.) Joe T. although very knowledgable in the field of Electrical Code still doesn't seem to grasp the concept of Home Inspections and what they are about.
Also Gerry did not remove Joe T. from the Convention, he removed himself in a open post and a e-mail to several members. All we did at the time was decide not to accept his removal of that post.
Joe will still be going around and doing eletrical seminars for the various nachi chapters so I am sure that he will continute to get exposure.
