They no longer sell this equipment but here are the codes Amana utilizes for dating.
Use B-L-A-C-K-H-O-R-S-E letter code. The serial number has a letter at the beginning.
This letter gives the age.
B- 1971 or 1981
L- 1972 or 1982
A- 1973 or 1983
C- 1974 or 1984
K- 1975 or 1985
H- 1976 or 1986
O- 1977 or 1987
R- 1978 or 1988
S- 1969 or 1979
E- 1970 or 1980
Note: If there is manufacturing number on plate, made in 1970?s or later.
