It’s amazing what level of general information on a home inspection is out there. Just had a guy offer to pay extra if he could ‘tag along’ on the inspection.
Expectations are wide ranging too. I get a kick out of the reaction when I tell them the report will be available that evening. Some are truly amazed it is that quick.
We should recognize the average client has these inspections basically never and have no concept of the thoroughness and scope of the inspection, and are duly impressed by it.
But I had one who sent out a detailed list of questions straight from ‘What you should ask your Home Inspector’. My reply was succinct I thought but not enough to be hired.
