An Edisonian Artifact - one of the first underground electrical conductors

As I was going through my coursework regarding electrical panels with known defects/hazards, I started getting really curious about other past electrical devices that were dangerous and wondered if there’s a good electricity museum somewhere. There’s one in Washington State called Spark.

They have a section of one of Thomas Edison’s first electrical conductors as an exhibit. The museum’s website is down for this specific piece, but I’ve read it before. They discovered this piece while excavating parts of lower manhattan after 9/11.

There are some more details that aren’t included in that photo below… I think the conductor was encased in 20’ sections of metal pipe, with asphalt surrounding it.

You people need to start including Links to stuff like this when you start a thread revolving around it.
Just sayin’!!
