Another Question For Nick, Ben or Marc Cohen

If you are referring to me calling someone a midget AFTER he called me Morbidly obese, I guess you are correct, congrats you are the winner.

Nathan was directly quoted, on another thread and by a long-time NACHI member and experienced inspector. The quote was taken directly from Nathan at a Chicago evnet, I believe.

It pertained directly to warranties (and perhaps his, though I do not remember).

It was not flattering.

As to Nick’s example, and more importantly to who “qualified” to offer certain warranties I do not believe there are any true qualifications. One pays, barters, trades, or agrees to quotas in exchange for some warranties. In some instances, there may be specific language that is required in one’s inspection agreement, or perhaps a requirement to purchase/use other products and services.

An inspector who has been inspecting for five minutes generally “qualifies”.

My kids use the he started defense a lot as well.

I could care less what you call people here. Just don’t condemn the behavior of others when you engage in it regularly.

But I’m just a troll, right

Troy, shame on you, you should teach your kids better:shock:, as for me, oh well guess I am a bad man and retaliate when I get attacted first…oh dear call me evil. Also Juan and I made our peace so why do you keep trying to bring up crap that we settled?

Just try to stay on topic please and stop creating drama.

Jim

From you, that is funny.

The feeling is quite mutual.

Jim

There’s a difference though Jim.

I don’t pretend to be something I’m not here. I’m a smart a s s at times and I know it, but I don’t go around tweaking people and then get all bent out of shape when someone tweaks back.

I understand that we all have different ideas about how to run a business. I tell people what works for me, not that they should do it my way.*

Back On Topic Please !!

Just getting back on topic

Nick, never mind, I wrote to Ben and Got my answer.

But once again I really thank you for all your help and honest opinions and guidance with this issue. It means a great deal to many of us here.

OK So Here is the answer I got back from Ben just now regarding what Mountain Warranty does with any Client Information to anyone who is considering offering warranties now or in the future, of course IF you think it is something you feel would benefit you business.

Hey Ben, thinking about finallu giving Warranties a shot and needed to know one thing,

.Can you confirm that our clients data will not be released or sold or used for any other purpose other than Mountain Warranty if we use the Mountain Warranty service ?

Thanks

Hi, Jim.

Confirmed. And I think I understand where you’re question is coming from. We do not give away, share in any way, transfer, store, sell, or etc. any of your client’s information.

The only time you share your clients name is when you customize the 100-day certificate with your homeowner’s name, but you actually don’t have to. You could enter the homeowner’s address too, but you don’t have to. The only time we ask for your client’s information is when there is a claim.

I’ll sign a document testifying to that, if you’d like.

Sincerely,

Now that is some good honest stuff right there.

Thanks again to Nick and Ben.

Jim

That’s good to know.

Damm Tootin skippy, that along with the WeMakeItSafer Explicit Consent form we now have. You should have seen that a few days ago It got sent out, if not hit me up I’ll send it to you. I believe all things can be covered now and Never needing to sell or release any client information ever. It’s all good in the hood for any who choose to go that route.

Jim

Kinda confused…you don’t have to put the clients name or address in the information? How does anyone know who is covered?

If mountain warranty does not get a name and address how does Mountain know they are covered and when the coverage started?

Great question, I would ask Ben or maybe he will chime in here and answer, or in that other Mountain thread in the members section.

But I have no reason to doubt Ben has this worked out, he is no dummy.

Jim

Mountain Warranty covers/protects the inspector, not the home owner. That’s my understanding, unless it’s been changed.

Huh?

Ok mrs. Smith 123 Main Street has a complaint. I would assume that she is given a copy of the warranty. How does she file? How does Ben know this person was paid for? It never worked like this when I used Mountain…

All the info is right on the site as well as Ben is very quick replying to emails. I did however just find a flyer that does show a little info Check out this flyer. http://www.mountain-association.org/pdf/Mountain-Flyer.pdf
