Another smaller association to merge with NACHI.

http://www.nachi.org/asprei2007.htm

Good deal.

welcome

I don’t see how it is a “Merge”, where is our offer of “Free Membership” in ASPREI. How does this “Merger” benefit NACHI Members?

Well obviously it benefits us because now ALL NACHI members can be CMI’s so it clears up the entire CMI conflict!

Yay!

I’m going to change my website right away too!

For the record, Mike Rowan does not own CMI.

ASPREI is simply offering their members a chance to have
access to a FREE membership in NACHI.

From Nicks post, it appears both are still separate groups…
but the ASPREI group can enjoy a dual membership,
at no charge.

No problem for me.

There are also education vendors out there that offer the same
free membership as part of their benefit package.

But… Joe Farsetta brings up some real issues about CMI.

Unless there is some fine print some where that makes
it known that CMI is also a separate designation, there
might be a copy wright problem… hmmm?

If CMI is offered as a stated goal… and ASPREI members
can go after it, but only the Board of CMI can
approve it… then there would be no problem.

Perhaps more accurate verbiage on their web site might
solve this issue?

Where has the little fella been hiding, lately?

While he does not own CMI, he certainly set out to own everything surrounding it…to include the approved materials to teach from.

Is he still relevant or is he limiting all of his rhetoric to his privately owned and monitored CMI message board? I’m still waiting for my password so that I can chat with him. Been more than three weeks, now. I guess there is such a backlog of registered participants he just has not had time to get to mine, yet.

John M. is correct, and we’ve had similar agreements with other orgs for years such as H.I.F., IAC2, InterNACHI and ISHI.

It’s that “two hats” problem. I have a duty to NACHI members but also a duty to NACHI the trade association. Sometimes we have to do something that has no direct benefit to NACHI members but an indirect benefit in that it is good for the trade association.

So how are you going to handle the CMI issue? Are you going to “defrock” CMI’s in their association who don’t qualify? Or will they be grandfathered?

Seems like alot of inequality in the whole CMI issue.

The CMIs are all listed by the MICB on the MICB site at www.certifiedmasterinspector.org

I suspect that their web site will soon have a correction
to it’s verbiage that reflects a more accurate description…
that CMI is available… but approved only by the CMI Board.

Nick,

As to where to find CMIs, what’s the purpose of Mike Rowan’s mirrored website, where he refers to MI/CMI, and has this listed on a proprietary site, owned by him, with a CMI message board, moderated by his designee?

I don’t know. But I’m sure it is for a good purpose.

LOL, probably not quite what you were looking for eh Joe?

I trust in the spiritual world and modern physics and so have convinced myself that the “observer effect” occurs when I look for the best in things… the best then actually occurs.

RE: ASPREI

This site contains the text about CMI, near the bottom of the page…
http://www.asprei.com/Ethics.htm

At the top of the page it is dated… January 1, 2001.

It appears that they may have been handing out a designation
that was not registered at the time… and now that Nick
has CMI registered… they will have to adjust.

RE: Michael Rowen

Look at ALL of his web sites… I cannot find ANY that
get much traffic. But, he is trying…

Anyone who claims to have done 10,000 paid inspections,
within his time frame, has got to be worth watching. Just
his log records alone would look like the Houston Texas
Yellow Pages…

IMHO

I agree with that also Nick. I believe in something Suzy Orman teaches, that if we try to hold onto our money and are tight fisted with it, never sharing it, that we can’t receive wealth either because our hands are closed. Once we open our hands to give, then we are able to receive because our hands are already open.

21 years,right?
