Thank you, Marcel…This shingle is very rare in my area. Buyer is hoping to get 1 or 2 more seasons…No idea how old they are. Home was built in '57.

Sorry Frank I did not intend to hijack your thread just giving my neighbors from Kansas a hard time

From the photo you supplied of the T-Lock shingles and age of the Home, I would have to say that this was the second re-roof using that shingle and it is most likely over 25 years old.

I have replaced a 3 tab shingle roof a couple of years ago that was 36 years old and was not quite at the end of its useful life, but pretty near to it.

I would suspect that the t-lock was not much different in composition as the 1974 shingle I am talking about.

I can’t imagine an organic roof shingle lasting 57 years and not look any worse than the picture you submitted.

And yes, I would have walked on it once I felt it and tasted it.;)

From Pelham, NY Sun ad-1933:

The building was erected in 1925 by D.W. McGrath and Sons Construction Company. The three-story building has a reinforced concrete frame with a stucco interior. The roof is made of steel, laytite asphalt and shingles, and covers approximately 27,563 square feet.

[FONT=Verdana]These shingles appear to be a bit different than what are called “T-LOC” today.

I see they also install the “Art-Loc” Shingles.

Thanks Peter.

Spoung? Is a spoung one of those things you whack your horse with to make him climb the ladder?

Sorry. Thanks for reminding me Barry.
Thanks Brian and Marcel.
I have yet to see T link shingles. One for the books.
I will see if Quebec disallowed the use of them.

Those shingles are still available.

They are not interlocking.
