In Schaumburg, IL in September sponsored by AHIT? I don’t know too much about it. Their website didn’t have any info on the seminars, so I called…no one could give me detailed info. They just said the schedule with final details would be posted next week sometime. 2 day event for $295 if you sign up by June 30. $350 after that date.

I am thinking about it Kevin.

But unless they give me an idea of classes my $295 is going to include, I can't rationalize it!

When I called I was sort of a prick about it…I said "how can you be asking people to sign up early and save money on entry when they have no idea of what they are signing up for? She didn’t have an answer! icon_wink.gif

If they can't figure it out before they take my money, why would I give it to them at all?

Kevin,

not to defend AHIT, but they are finalizing the speaker list and times of when those speakers are talking…

Firsthand knowledge, as I might be one of the speakers - tentatively based on when I might talk. Subject would be the Basics of E&O and Risk Management.

Sincerely,

NACHI is not typically an educational provider, that is why. They are a association. However, I know Gerry is making sure to get Ill. to recognize the classes in florida. So hope to see you there.

Instead of Inspection Fest, we should all be gearing up for NACHI Fest in Orlando in January…

I get that you live closer so travel will be less. But the cost for both is about the same, and rooms are just a hair more. I'd say spend the extra $200 or so and come meet us other NACHI guys!

Sorry Kevin, you are right. From where you are it would be about $400 more. Assuming it is just you for the 4 days. Which is the only way to go. LOL

Maybe $400 but an extra 4 days drive time, extra time off work, extra motels, etc. It all adds up!

Chicago is a 6 hour ride…Orlando is a two day drive…minimum.

Right now, there are some nice airfares available. For instance, roundtrip from Chi. to Orlando 350.00 total for two. Short flights, most of them direct, non-stop. Slightly higher out of Milwaukee and Minn-St.Paul but still cheap. Orlando is one of the cheapest places to fly into because it tour stop city.

Plus, you don't even need to rent a car. More details will be made available when they are ready. Most likely you wont have the time or the ENERGY to be running around Orlando, unless you're staying longer than most. The NACHI Foundation has another raffle running, 5 bucks gets you a chance to stay for free. The first 75 to register at Coronado Springs will be entered into a drawing, one of those will stay free. That particular contest is winding down, and will be announced shortly after it is filled.

So, everynight take your loose change, stick it in a can or jar. Do not remove any coins from it and in six months you'll have saved 200-300 dollars.

Don't forget the tax deductions that you are allowed to take too.

Paul

Counting down the days to Orlando 2005 T-minus 209 and counting!

Air fare is usually real cheap to orlando. In fact, It would probably be less to fly there than pay the two nights hotel plus gas on the drive to and from.

I am driving though, since it is only 12 hours or so. Way my wife drives, might make it there in 6. On second thought I don't want to end up in Sheriff Bubba's lockup in Georgia. I think I will drive.
