Get ready to see home buyers who will not qualify for the home loan based upon the home’s projected energy costs being calculated into the formula determining the monthly payments he can afford to make on his loan.

Why shouldn’t they be? They are variable costs that should be factored in the ability to repay the loan.

Rural Development loans use to require things such as weatherstripping on doors and insulation because they said costs of owning a home should be factored in. I was told that NAR is the ones that made the Rural Development inspections a joke now. It will be interesting to see how NAR will react to this new news. NAR has done nothing but move this country back-wards, because they invested the money to buy political clout.
