Hi

Is there any time that a auxiliary drain tray line can be connected to the

condensation line like as a letter Y connection or in any other way because from my understanding , you can not have the two connected and draining

from the same line . This would negate the draining from the the main condensation line in case of a back up.

Nothing says you cannot do that, but like you pointed out, it would only cause problems.

The better solution is to put a cut off switch in the secondary condensate drain pan. Then, when it backs up and overflow into the secondary condensate pan, the switch shuts the system down. That is the better secondary protection. The secondary condensate drain pan does not even have to have a drain connected to it.
