Basement dehumidifier 14-june 2006
I came across a dehumidifier that keeps icing up. We shut it off and let it defrost and it keep freezing up
. It is located in a damp new home basement.
Do you think the dehumidifier is too small? Or what causes it to ice up?

poor air flow through the unit.
maybe the fan is malfunctioning.
room temp may be too low.
most units call for a min temp of 65-70*
is it a total frost over, or just partial?
is it on the basement floor?
if so, elevate it and see what happens.
