I am absolutely amazed sometimes by how much thought goes into doing things wrong

Eric,

Where can you purchase the laser thermometer and other HI tools?

Thanks,

I got my laser thermometer at Sears for $79.99. Works very well. You can get most of the basic tools at the Big Orange or Lowes.

I found the best prices on my tools at InspectorTools.com, and everything shipped immediately.

Also, look into a good rechargable flashlight, like the Streamlight Stinger HP. They're more powerful than a Mag, and much, much lighter. I think you also save money in the long run on D batteries. Best prices on this light usually found on eBay.

I would check out Grainger. They have good deals a lot of the time . Show them your business licence and get a nice (wholesale discount)

I have put the past behind me,

where , however, it now sits, making rude remarks.

I picked one up on ebay new for $55. It came 4 days later and works great…within 1 degree of my thermostat.

They get less reliable the further away you are from the object you are measuring though. Mine is a laser pointer type…means it measures the temp of whatever the pointer is pointing at.

They are also less reliable on shiny light colored surfaces than flat black surfaces. I stick a fridge type magnet to galvanized heating ducts for a few minutes before taking reading.
