Becoming Certified for Radon Inspections in Florida

Do you think that it is the stone in the concrete breaking down and releasing the radon gas?
If so, I wonder if the stone is brought in from other states that have higher radon concentrations?
MMMMM

4.0 PcI/L or higher is elevated in US - state & EPA recommend mitigation

2-3 day class to be certified in Florida these days
use a monitor if you can afford it, if not charcoals from Air Chek
I wouldn’t buy one in Florida - lease from Femto tech or Radalink, they must be calibrated every year.
REMEMBER, report must be from Florida DOH certified Radon Measurement Business. work with Radalink or Air Chek -simple
We used Radalink back in 2000, good equipment
Radalink copied our report several years ago - graphs and hour by hour readings - clients like it, makes understanding report easy.

We work for dozens of home inspectors now, many that also “perform” tests, most only have a couple monitors so we do their excess. Used to work with 60 or 70 but many do their own now and we have gotten away from Real Estate as much as possible.
Just follow the rules and have a good support (measurement specialist -business) - simple but many home inspectors don’t

Sent you a referral this morning Doug she should be calling Tue.

Terry at Radalink got me certified and has always been a great help. I believe he will be in Melbourne soon.

There is a class coming to Fort Meyers at the end of January. I’m looking at this “Application for certification as radon specialist or technician”. DH1751
I’m going after the Measurement Technician designation.

Do I need to include work history even if it doesn’t pertain to radon?

Do you have a link to info on class in Ft. Myers?

Just emailed you

Thanks Mike.

So just to make sure I understand it correctly. If you have your own home inspection business and you want to offer radon testing, you need a license and your business needs a license as well?
