Hopefully, you can find a certified testing lab that is within reasonable driving distance to your location. If you find one, make arrangements to go there and pick up some sample collection kits. They should come with instructions on how to collect the water samples. You’ll want a lab you can drive to so that you can provide a quick turn around on the results. Your state inspection regulatory agency should have a list of certified labs. Find out what the lab can test for. Mostly, you’ll only need to offer testing for microbiological things such as coliform and ecoli. If you suspect ground water contamination from other sources you may want to test for that also.
I recommend the book "Inspecting a House" by Rex Cauldwell. It has a lot of good information on inspecting different types of wells.
