Looking for opinions on this. The blocks do not appear to have actually separated from the other blocks. House is pretty old early 1950. They almost appear that they were layed that way. No foundation issues at the bottom or any other cracks or evidence that indicates settlement. Just looks weird.P1000705.jpg





If they hadn’t moved/cracked there would have been no need to paint that location. It is previous movement for sure but currently should just be monitored.

The whole house has been painted

In the photos there is a lighter colored paint only on the mortar joints of the stairstep displaced block.

There was definite movement in the wall at some point. If built in the 50’s, it most likely would not have any vertical reinforcement.
