Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings Chuck. Guess I should NOT have an opinion on a thread that I started huh? Hmmm maybe the term bottomfeeder is too derogatory? From now on Chuck, I will refer to them as “THE CHEAP GUYS” so as not to offend YOU, or anyone else.
Did you call him before starting a public thread Gerald? Federal law prevents me from making the call. He’s your competitor. When I was in the inspection business, I had dinner with my strongest competitor (Joe Hagarty) on a regular basis.
Maybe I should do that ,I asked a simple question, how can anyone sustain a business with these prices?? Seems like maybe I stepped over the line on this one. Guess I’ll just keep my opinions to myself. Maybe when I am a seasoned vet in a few years,I will be allowed to come back here and express my thoughts? Didn’t know I was supposed to call my competitors first Nick,I must not be clear what is allowed here. Anyway I will be working soon and won’t have time to worry about what is being said on this MB. Delete the thread if you want to,Nick. Probably better if you do.
I meet with mine regularly as well. He keeps trying to hire me
This is why it is in every member’s best interests to have a local InterNACHI chapter where you can hang out with your competitors.
The reason I made the decision to join interNACHI was ,I perceived it to be the ELITE organization to be a member of ,and in my opinion if you’re displaying the iNACHI logo and are a member in good standing, then it warrants COMPETITIVE fees instead of cutthroat pricing. There ARE plenty of houses here to keep everyone busy,no need to drive the market down! I guess if the “cheap guys” can keep their business going and still eat, then nothing else matters.
I’ve been reading the few threads you started and i’ve noticed you are an opinionated person and that’s fine and dandy. You also don’t like it when people don’t think like you…
I don’t believe you started this thread because you had a “question about how can anyone sustain a business with these prices” but it was to “expose” how another member of this organization runs his business as he sees fits and you don’t agree with it…
Had you simply said that you found another company doing inspections for under a certain dollar amount you think is too low and then asked your question (which would still have been to belittle the person anyway), it might have turned into a good discussion to build on…
What if tomorrow you have another member call you a bottom feeder, post your website right here, all because because he charges $200 more than you? Doing this on the public forum was lame…
The best thing you could have done was call the guy and simply asked him how he makes it happen.
What if he’s making $250000/year in sales with lower prices but you only pull in $60K with your “high” prices? Who would then be the bottom feeder?
Now, I’m going to inspect a house…
william,Did I hurt your feelings too? SORRY.
There’s been many a thread on lowballers…don’t take someone’s comments personal.
I can see by his sample report he quickly scans through items. He states that the electrical panel is in ‘Serviceable condition’ (the ground buss is detached) and labels it as a 24 space panel (it is a 20 space).
Jeff
As mentioned earlier, “you charge what you’re worth”.
Jeffery,I DON’T,Christopher I WILL.
Let there be peace and unity once again in the land of interNACHI
Guess I DID hurt your feelings Lol. Youre funny chucky. IM SORRY.
LOL…
LOL…
He missed 2-3 MWBCs not tied to trip simultaneously in the main panel.
I’m not sure what the problem is with “appears to be in serviceable condition” if the item was inspected during a limited visual inspection and the visual appearance of the item’s condition indicated it was able to perform the service it is designed to provide.
Does that define it for ya?
Lol nicely played, Sir. Nicely played…You moonlight as an attorney? Lol
Chuck, chastising someone for doing something and then doing the same thing to them doesn’t make sense.
He won’t be around long.
I don’t know what you mean.
My work here is done;-)
