Brain Freeze

Ok, its been a long day and i may not be thinking properly, but what is the smallest wire size (copper) that can be used on a 150 amp breaker. I am thinking it is 1/0. I saw #1 AGW today and need to know if it is acceptable.

From my handy dandy code check book
150 breaker - 1/0 awg cu
150 service conductor- 1 awg cu

Was the wire feeding a main breaker, or was this a branch circuit wire?

main breaker

What Linda said.
#1cu is typical to feed a 150A service panel.
