Brand/Model lookup websites

I’ve done some searching through the forum and on the web but haven’t found what I am looking for yet. I have heard of a website where you can plug in the serial or just the model number of a system mainly HVAC and get the brand/model from that. Is there a general page here on InterNACHI that might have a set of “useful links” or can someone just post them here?

Now and then I find a system with no name and nothing visible but the model number/serial number. If you type the model number in to Google, most of the time you will get hits on the manufacturer.
