Westario Power is offering residential customers a free energy audit and energy-saving materials to help customers learn to conserve energy and reduce costs.

As part of the “Home Energy Assessment Program” pilot program, a designated contractor will visit an individual’s home and conduct an audit.

They’ll also install up to $500-worth of items, like LED bulbs, smart power strips, and low flow shower heads.

Westario Power Energy Conversation Officer, Paul McGinn, says the program is a first of it’s kind on Ontario.

He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it’ll “offer Westario Power customers with a unique opportunity to learn more about how they use energy at home, and instantly save with the free upgrades.”
He adds customers may get up to 20 per cent off their electricity bills when the products are installed.

If you’re interested in participating in the program, sign up at or call 1-866-988-5029.

Customers must be in good standing with Westario Power, must have an electrically heated home, and the property must be a non-seasonal residence.

The program is offered for a limited time, and is funded by the Independent Electricity System Operator.
