Hi James
Sorta like Oahi using inspectors to teach its own courses. Last time I heard Oahi had non electricians teaching electrical courses. Whats even worse is one of the wanne be instructors was letting students stick their finger in the light socket. Gotta love the concept.

Interesting, thread but the real news is others have beat them out of the block, years ago. The exception being those other colleges have real exams in the college classroom. Some even have post graduate studies in home inspection. Tah dah!
It also my understanding this college does not meet the OAHI or the CAHPI standard. Not that anyone here really seems to care about OAHI or CAHPI. So they have done themselves proud by having NACHI approve them.
Ray - possibly clarify your point was that an Intro to Home Inspection course? (Re: your electrical concern) Because OAHI does not run a full electrical course, that is done by others.

What are the OAHI or the CAHPI standards? Where can one read them? Are OAHI standards, ASHI standards? After all ASHI does consider OAHI as an extension of itsself. Please elaborate.
We all care quite extensively about OAHI/CAHPI. SAE's (Self appointed experts) require close monitoring and should be held accountable for their actions/inactions. Secrecy of policy implementation is not a right when it will involve a much greater populous.
I'm amazed that a higher learning institute that is recognized by your government does not meet the needs of your organization. This surely puts you ahead of the government. Congratulations.

Thank you - John for that clarification.
I simply felt obliged to try to seek clarification of that fact. I felt it was misleading, you have clarified the source. That is good enough to satisfy me and a few others involved with the colleges that read this forum.
Your demeanor sir/madam is not within the terms of your agreement. Please refrain from posting further disparaging comments. If you are in doubt of your actions please reread the above.
NACHI encourages participation by non-members. But please remember you are merely a guest.

Fwiw Mr. Knowsnothing
Oahi has several members who offer 2 week courses for fledging inspectors. So Oahi it could be said helps foster the home inspector training band wagon.
My bad.

Fwiw to my knowledge some College courses are not acceptable to Oahi. Of course the primary reason is likely the fact Oahi is making money on providing courses solely approved and offered by them. After all why would they want to give up a money making machine.
