LOL
Don’t you have homework to do??

I am doing Home work ever awake minute of every day from Trim in the base ment to studying IR or learning a new computer Program Working in my green house starting plants.
So much to do so little time to do it.
Fortunatly I am one of those who gets by with about 5 hours of sleep a night .
Frequently you will see a post from me at 5;00 am.
Usually up at four and read the news paper by five front to back.

Cookie
I have a MS computer program that does this map in about two minutes .

Would anyone actually partake of this offer?

Roy, no one could ever accuse you of being Sleeping Beauty! :mrgreen:

Not Bloodly likely not in this weather. September or May fantastic they pay I go.

…Cookie

I fail to see the logic in posting a call for equipment inspectors on a Home Inspectors forum. Can someone open my eyes for me?
I know many of us had trades before going into HI, but an equipment inspector? One would think that an inspection would be done by a qualified heavy machinery person, at the factory before delivery, or at the farm dealer before sale.

I consider this spam.

Raymond…
ah yes, spam…even spam has a taste to it, but this leaves an after-taste.

I understand many USA HIs make a little extra money just confirming the company exists and that they do have this equipment on location.
I expect it is for financial reasons this info is needed.
Like many USA Companies they just might not know just how large Canada is.
I do not think this is much different then many of the other posts we get regularly.

Thanks Roy

So what are we now, Private Investigators or Home Inspectors?

Now tell me Raymond if I had a store In Caledon.
I sold it and had a mortgage.
Moved to the UK .
Would you not take a picture and email it to me for a fee.
Just so I knew it was still operating in reasonable condition.
Why do you feel I should have to hire a Private Investigator to do this.
Many HIs in the USA make added income like this.
I think it is great, just like some make added income checking a home when a person goes away on vacation.

Roy,
You are correct
In my small town, during the Winter, home inspections are almost non-existant :frowning:
I pick up extra revenue from doing such inspections. There are a few companies that I work with. Primarily, these inspections are for leasing/finance companies that are verifying that the equipment was received by a business, the condition of the equipment (new/used), or verifying the business actually exists. Most inspections take about 5-10 minutes on-site including 5-8 pictures of the equipment and business. I limit my area (as with draw inspections) and usually total time, including travel and report, is no more than 1 hour. Most of the inspections pay 35-60 dollars (same as with draw inspections). I have picked up out of area inspections while I am in a different area performing a home inspection. Reduces the overhead expenses and adds to the bottom line.
By the way… I have not heard of this company, but plan to look into their operation. Never hurts the business to keep an open mind. Many inspectors limit themselves to DDN or GCI… I started with them, and have expanded my base with the EQ inspections.

Thank you for the clarifications Roy and Jeffrey, I suppose some further explanation is in order. Although I enjoyed the “directions” post, we are not looking for someone to travel that much! Since we pay for mileage, that would cost us a fortune! The equipment inspection itself is also known as an audit, which involves conducting inventory on usually heavy farm equipment at a specific location. The purpose of these types of audits are to assure the supplier (John Deere, Case, etc…) that the dealer’s inventory is correct and in order. You do not need any specialized knowledge that we do not provide in our inspector training, and many of our inspectors do other types like home, property, auto, and I even talked to a mattress inspector the other day who was interested. I apologize that some of you consider my posting spam, but we are a well-established company and come well-recommended by many professional inspection societies throughout the US and Canada. I’ll be happy to answer any other questions anyone has about us, feel free to email me at scollins@quiktrak.com. Thanks.

Thanks Sean for clearing this up. I found Roy’s and Jeff’s post’s credible, but it’s always nice to get info from the source.

I just signed up with QuikTrak to do some equipment inspections. Sean is awesome to deal with and the company is top rate. I am with Global Property Inspections (National Property Inspections in the US) and many of our inspectors have been working with QuikTrak for some time now. I think that there is no shame in diversifying from the Home Inspection only routine. Besides adding extra income, it doesn’t hurt to be learning new things and growing your business at the same time.

Thanks, Don, you made things easy and were nice to deal with as well. As of today, I have only three “need” areas left thanks in part to everyone on this board. These are Napan/Moncton, NB; Chicoutimi, QC; and Rouyn Noranda, QC. Thanks everyone for your interest, unfortunately I had to turn many of you down. I also brought many on, and have retained everyone’s information for future consideration.
