I have been doing home inspection for many years now and I am regularly asked the question, “would you buy this house” after completing the inspection and walk through. This is a conflict of interest in my opinion as we cannot answer this question for someone. We as inspectors have to stay neutral ( non-biased ) on any home we inspect and stick to the information obtained during the inspection as this question is a personal question and by answering could sway a big decision on the purchase of a home.
I would avoid this question by saying I apologize I am not able to answer this question because of the personal nature of the question and personal parameters for choosing a home. I wish you well on your home endeavor and if you have any questions on this inspection please feel free to ask.
