The installation manual for the model I posted has instructions for each type of heating appliance, solid fuel, oil, and gas. In a nutshell the instructions say to check flue temp and draft before and after installation with a bunch of warnings not to install the product if either is unacceptable after installation.
I haven’t seen one in my area on a gas appliance, but I see them on wood-burning stoves now and again. I think I will add an informational narrative to my template for use when I see these. It’s also important that they be cleaned of soot and creosote when used on a wood stove.
