What is everyone’s follow-up protocol with clients after the inspection?
Before or after a report is issued to them?
I have some automated emails that go out to the client and some to the client’s realtor (if they have one and want them included) after the inspection and after the report is sent out and a few days later to check in and let them know I’m still available if they have questions or requests. The email also I asks them to post a google review to let everyone know how blown away they were by the best home inspection they ever had.
After report delivery.
I don’t do same day reports, so I inform my clients I will notify them once the inspection has been completed, followed later in the day with a non-inclusive summary email once I review my notes and photos have been reviewed. I notify them once the report is complete and when I’m sending it so they expect it. (Usually less than a 24 hour turn around.)
My “sending the report” email always states that they “should thoroughly read the report and contact me with any questions regarding such. I will be glad to go over in detail, the report and any questions you may have.”
My guess is about 30% of the clients have reached back out about questions from the inspection and report.
Ps. Sending them (happy clients) Holiday Greetings via email this time of year may help with referrals.
If you don’t have much interaction prior to the report delivery, and you feel that they are comfortable with your service, You can email a “thank you” for them hiring you for doing the inspection and would appreciate keeping your (name) if needed or for any referrals.
Some inspectors ask if the client would “rate” them on certain sites. I don’t do that, but that is just me.
Thanks Tom
Thanks Bert
I dont do “ollow ups”, but I do follow ups
Like Bert, I have an automated email that goes out about 3 days after the inspection, and another one at a week.
Definitely worth it if you want google reviews.
I do same as Bert
I have automated emails after the report is delivered (2), plus I attempt to both call the client and their agent after they have viewed the report to see if they were satisfied and have any questions. I do not believe there is such as thing as too much client service.
Thanks all
