Commercial Air Pressure Code - Where to look?

I have been asked a question as to what the code is for pipe size and fittings on a 150 lb pressure air line for a commercial application. Being solely residential, I’m looking for direction.

It is not in the IBC. I would suggest that the manufacture of the line, fittings or other associated equipment would have the specifications.

Pipe size is a function of the design of the air delivery system. The code requirements are the same as pressure vessel codes from ASME. If a pipe is too small, the flow is restricted to the device connected to air pressure, much the same as a restriction in water supply pipe in a house.

A well engineered air supply system will have less than a 10psi pressure drop at full flow from the reciever to the equipment connection.
