Yesterday, CCPIA® hosted a sold-out, one-day Commercial Property Inspection Field Training in Milwaukee. Students from across the country joined Rob Claus for a hands-on inspection and walk-through of a community center. The historic structure was built in 1956 and has undergone various improvements and renovations over the years.
Students assessed the property’s condition and discussed reporting approaches for the commercial kitchen, MEP systems, solar panels, building envelope, accessibility, and more. During the inspection, they discovered issues with the electric service, grounding, and distribution; roof and roof drainage; masonry concerns; and some barriers to accessibility. Students shared their personal experiences and learned from each other.
The last hands-on CCPIA® commercial property inspection training of the year is Oct. 7-9, 2026, in Boulder, CO. Students will inspect a renovated mid-century industrial building that currently operates as a brewery.
