I have a thermographer and energy auditor. His words not mine (maybe inside or Canuck lingo?) I also have a mold & air quality guy. I stick to the home, pool & spa’s etc.
I’m not so worried about the inspecting of commercial properties as I am figuring out the execution, preparation, consulting etc. I don’t want to wing it, or try to reinvent it. I’m just trying to research a system that has been proven to work. Unlike some, the CMI title does not magically make me a pro at all things inspection related. I need and want to learn and ensure proper execution of the process. No one is ever a “master” at anything. Title or not, I believe anyone in this business should be making a concerted effort to learn something new as often as possible. But again, thank you for the tips I’ve already looked into your association and have researched some of your reading material. It’s much appreciated!

My first question would be…what TYPE of commercial inspections are you talking about ? apartment buildings…strip malls…office buildings…restaurants… factories…they are all different. We developed a commercial template based on the ASTM standards many years ago with Richard Weldon at Carson Dunlop…but like all templates it is a foundation to start from and build upon depending upon what type of commercial buildings you are inspecting.
