Looking for info on this panel. House was built in 1962. This panel is old, but I think it’s not that old. In FL, 99.9% of homeowner’s insurance will require a 4-Point, and a photo of the panel. When they see that panel, they will likely require it be replaced, even though if there’s no problem.

There was no label in the panel, but I think the electric service has been upgraded as there’s no cloth wire, most circuits are grounded. There have been several remodels for the house.

I’m just trying to gain an educated guess to the age of the panel

Its old, original I’m sure.

FYIW, Rockledge Electric in Cocoa (orange sticker) was around in the ‘60’s, closed in 1967. Check out that phone number ….

This label appears to indicate it’s a Sub-panel, so why are there Ground wires present?

Regardless, it looks like the original panel aged to when the home was built.

Looks like it could be original from 1962. Fuses for the pull out service disconnect were common during that era.

It does look like that, but I’d expect to find cloth-covered wire, which is not there.

My WAG is that it’s original to the house at the time of construction in 1962.

Maybe they upgraded the wiring.

The cables on the older circuits appear to have cloth jackets (what some call rag wire) which is perfectly fine because they have thermoplastic coating (same standard as today) on the individual conductors. Some newer cables were apparently added later with modern plastic jackets. Both the rag wire and fuse block main disconnect scream original 1962 to me.

Gotcha.

Looking at the pic again on my computer and not my tablet, I see where the label states…
“_Suitable For Use As Service Equipment_”.

Interesting, the added label at the bottom, below the full sized label/legend… could be read as to confuse some (non-electrician) inspectors!

That label is saying that the panel is (also) rated to be a 240v only panel (as opposed to the 120-240v main rating for the panel). And if used as a 240v panel, only 240v breakers are allowed.
