Point is clear, you shouldn’t be inspecting that which is outside of what the individual unit “owns”. That’s not being “lazy”, its being responsible.

An owner of a condo does “own” the exterior area, it is an interest in the common areas which is a different type of ownership. As an “owner” they are proportionately liable for those sections, so there is less risk in some ways - divided costs and more risk in others - for example safety lawsuits.
