Heating and Venting?

What, no Air Conditioning?

This should be titled Heating and Air Conditioning

Igor,

I almost suggested HVAC, except that a lot of newbies may not recognize the term.

That is why I just went with Heating and Air Conditioning, figure everyone would know what that was.

But then you have lots of people that will never know what HVAC stands for! icon_biggrin.gif

Ah, already the typical Jerry Peck pedantics.

I don't like 'em, but I really love all the effort you put into helping educate the rest of us. Makes putting up with the pedantics worthwhile.

Welcome to NACHI. I'm sure most of us will really learn a lot from your contributions.

Igor,

I will save you the trouble of having to type this. If the newbies don't know what HVAC is, they shouldn't be inspecting yet. Time for more school.

Main Entry: ped?ant

Pronunciation: 'pe-d&nt

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle French, from Italian pedante

Date: 1588

1 obsolete : a male schoolteacher

2 a : one who makes a show of knowledge b : one who is unimaginative or who unduly emphasizes minutiae in the presentation or use of knowledge c : a formalist or precisionist in teaching

Erby,

I you mean 2 c : I could agree with that, otherwise, you are sounding like Mikey.

Ever read his posts? (I know, you have.) They frequently fit 2 a and 2 b to a tee, yet he dis-approves of others who even remotely lean in that direction. Yes, the information is good, and in depth, and he has gone to great length to get it, and he posts the found information in detail, and he ... it is a perfect fit for 2a and 2 b, isn't it? ![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)

Hi Guys,

I thought "Venting" was a term used to describe Joe F. taking issue with something. Now I find out it's about heating. Go figure.

Good on Mike

Maybe we should just change the Forum to Joe. F. Everyone knows he has the ability to

1. Heat things up

2. Vent to all areas

And

3. Cool things back down to normal while getting ready to cycle again

Uh-oh! I could be in deep do-do now

Just kidding Joe. Your posts are great, you're truly are a man of vision, integrity and overall nice guy

Pedantics

I just hope we don't get into the discussions of "there are no subpanels, only panelboards" that have been going on at the other inspection forums.

Neal,

What's a sub panel?

A panel in a sub? ![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)

Jerry,

That is correct. You can find them right next to the board stretchers, flight line and frequency grease.

John,

Are those right or left handed board stretchers?

Blaine,

How do I answer that? Either is okay. I actually had a couple of Privates bring me back a board stretcher after I sent them for one.

After spending most of the day running around all over the base, they finally came back from sick bay with one of those stretchers made from wood. Smart little f@ckers! Proud too!

I thought a board stretcher was the opposite of a gluing clamp.

I keep my left handed board stretcher right next to my left handed monkey wrench in my truck box.
