Remediators removed a sink from our basement bathroom, and the remaining drain pipe is slightly below grade (see photo). Is there a way to connect a new sink without digging the bathroom floor?
It’s time to call a local plumber.
We can’t see the details and frankly it wouldn’t matter much, so save yourself some time and call a pro.
where there is a will there is a way. do you see a will anywhere close? kidding of course. yes you can connect the new one without digging, but it will probably leak like a seive. kidding again, my bad. it’s early. i wouldn’t do this if you didn’t already have the anser you need. good luck with it. it’s not as much work as you think it is.
Is that PVC? If so, they make an adapter fitting that fits the inside of the pipe. Ask in the plumbing department of your nearest home improvement/hardware store.
that’s the same pipe from that other thread. metal pipe they were arguing about a hacksaw to cut it with. metal for sure.
Is the drain pipe operational?
Then one is going to need to be a bit more creative.
It almost looks like it could be Orangeburg. If that is the case, it’s going to take some digging.
