Wendy’s right on that one, Tony; as I said, it’s a Word doc.
I’ll just have to play with it, acc to Gerry.
The challenge is, even I can’t read my writing sometimes - how can this box read it?

I knew you meant the PV Tony.
For a tablet, it’s not that slow. Unless you intend to purchase a multimedia or gaming tablet.
Observe.

Russ,
You’ll be amazed at how simple and quickly this program turns your chicken scratch into text. It’s one of the most popular tablets for doctors as well.
It has ATI Rage Mobility with 3-D Accelerator
PenX2.02 is the writing program if you want to Google it to learn more about it.
Oh the RAM is 256.
I guess a bad trait of mine is not letting anything go…so here you go WF…
That Dell has a 1.7 GHZ processor…the 400mhz is referring to :
FSB
Short for Front Side Bus, FSB is also known as the Processor Bus, Memory Bus, or System Bus and connects the CPU with the main memory and is used to connect to other components within the computer. The FSB can range from speeds of 66 MHz, 133 MHz, 100 MHz, 266 MHz, 400 MHz, and up. The FSB is now another important consideration when looking at purchasing a computer Motherboard or a new computer
A gigahertz is 1,000 MHz. So a 500 MHz chip runs at half a gigahertz.
You are right…it should be fine for light computing…but to state that 500 mhz is fast…is not correct.
In fact:
**Watch Out: 500-MHz PowerPCs Planned for 1997 *****Tom R. Halfhill ***In a bid to create the world’s fastest microprocessor, a Silicon Valley start-up company is developing a PowerPC chip that combines fast-switching bipolar transistors with conventional CMOS technology. If the hybrid CPU lives up to expectations, it could exceed 500 MHz and deliver three times the performance of today’s fastest Pentiums.
That news flash is from 1996!!!
I rest my case!
No hard feelings…I just love to be right…
That, is not something to brag about Tony. I believe it is a character flaw, not an attribute.
Character flaws come in many forms WF…I already admitted mine…and of course I have many others…which I freely admit.
I am however, very careful not to speak in absolutes.
Russ Et Al, If one were to use a Word Checklist style report, Import the file into windows journal. The word portion remains as hard copy. Your scribbles can remain scribbles or be recognized and typed out. It works geat on checklists.
I also use it for getting last minute signatures and changes on my inspection agreement.
Great software tool.

ps. Wendy - Chill! Your BP is out the top lately! ;>)
Nah…my blood pressure is waaaaaay low. Thanks though tg.

Windows Journal?
Where do I find that, Tim?
Thanks!
Russ,
It’s part of the Windows XP Tablet PC operating system. Look for it by clicking on Start ; all programs; Windows journal

OK, Tim; and thanks for the call!
has anyone used a tablet pc with inspectvue?
I have used the demo with my tablet and it is quick and easy.
I have a virtually new Fujitsu Tablet in mint condition for sale, if anyone’s interested:

Check my post on the canidian inspectors thread for a detailed rant about gateway.
I used a dell laptop for three years, The service was the best. Fast, efficient and accurate. Fixed it once, fixed it right. Would have bought a dell tablet but they do not provide them. So I bought a gateway. It has cut an hour off on site time and another hour off the editing and printing time. Howerver service from gateway is nonexistant. From dell to gateway is like going from heaven to hell.
I will never buy another gateway product.
PS had to disable the wireless net work. the gateway crashed every time it tried to connect via wireless. Wire connection works OK.
Vern I agree. I bought mine through Costco, and the service provider changed in Canada, and it seemed like the US people and Canadian people never talked to each other. I had a hard disk crash, and it was a 4 month drag out battle under warranty to get a replacement.
The service warranty supposedly included onsite replacement, which never happened. It seemed like trying to reach any person including letter writing to the president of the company about their lousy service was in vain. Like you say I switched from Dell and after my Gateway experience went back to Dell.
Another great source for computer systems and such is Tiger Direct. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/
