Hello all!
I am in the process of starting up my own Inspection Company. I would like some input on what type of business structure to form the company under. I have already ruled out Sole Proprietorship and Partnership. Can anyone explain the pros and cons of the various Corporation structures.

Oscar,
Check with your state to see whether a C-corp, s-corp, or llc is better for you. If you check the NACHI board everyone has their favorite. You may have a little more paperwork to do for the s-corp, but in the long run I think you will be happier. It all comes down to taxes and liabilities.

Oscar,
Welcome to NACHI.
Here are a few discussions that have taken place here at NACHI already. These posts are insights and opinions only. I highly recommend you contact your business attorney for further assistance in your decision making.

Personally,
I really like the S-Corp Structure. I think that it is true and tried and has been testing in the Courts. LLCs are still new and I am waiting to see some real good test cases come out on them,

When I made the decision to join NACHI, I did so because I thought the membership benefits far exceeded ASHI and NAHI. What I didn’t expect was the wealth of knowledge and experience to be given and shared so freely.
Thanks-a lot. I look forward to being able to help others myself. It look like I may end up doing a few inspections before the Company itself is formed. But I don't think that is going to be a problem as long as Im Licensed by my home State.
