A real camera, and training on how to use it!!
The cracks are not showing in the poor-quality photos.. If this is on your home, contact the inspector for better pictures. If you are the inspector, you need a better camera, better software, or both!
Can’t see any cracks in those pictures. Terrible pictures!
What was your inspector’s recommendation in the report for the cracks?
Most homes have 10-year builder warranties on the structure.
As others have mentioned, we need pictures that show the actual cracks to comment on them.
Are you referring to the vertical cracks at foundation Stepdowns?
The home appears to be built on a hill or incline.
Is this what you are referring to?
PS: The images stink.
Vertical cracks ‘at the stepdown’ in poured concrete foundations built on inclines are often due to; usual/typical/normal concrete shrinkage, and/or minor settling, and likely may not be structurally serious.
You need to follow up with your inspector on this. We weren’t there.
They should have given you more information than just “crack at foundation wall.” This should have been followed by some sort of recommendation, such as monitor, fill cracks, or call a structural engineer.
Even with poor photos I know you’re looking at typical shrinkage cracks. Any changes in height or openings in a foundation wall will create stresses at corners. Typically small, however all shrinkage cracks go all the way through the foundation, so I always look for poor drainage where surface water runs along the foundation wall causing seepage at these cracks.
I’m aligned with Randy, probably no structural concern. But, maybe a concern with moisture intrusion.
And aligned with others, was this a home you purchased or are purchasing? Was this an Inspection Report for you? What comments did the inspector make? Those are very poor images.
