Just did a ride along and we where talking about gloves and I found out the “comfort crawl” gloves in the inspection outlet are sold out and the company is out of busness. any other idea? I found some “animal handaling” gloves that might work.
I’ve used many different types gloves over the years but finally settled on the tight thin rubber ones with a bit of texture. Being tight really helps me be able to use my camera/phone/tools, etc. And elbow pads are a must. I usually find them at sporting goods stores in the volleyball section. There’s nothing like plowing into a pile of concrete left in some random place under the vapor barrier.
I wear a suit which is long-sleeved, but to make life more comfortable, I simple add elbow pads so I can army crawl when needed. Of course, gloves with rubber knuckles help with getting around. (I cut the tip of one finger out so I can use my phone).

Morning, Robin.
Hope to find you well.
Been some time sense you posted last. Happy to here you are doing ride alongs. Best of luck with your endeavors.
As to your question about crawlspace gloves that work.
Think PPE in crawlspaces, attics and other spaces/places that are linked to hazards and exposure related threats. Personal protective equipment (PPE) clothing, or equipment, is worn to minimize exposure to hazards.
Visit a Personal protective equipment store near you. Try on gloves, suits, masks, shoes/boots, shoe gloves, etc, etc, etc. Crawling crawlspaces comes with hazards. Many here have likely become ill or have been injured over the years due to improperly taking the proper precautions before entering a space known to have hazards. Crawlspaces and attics come to mind.
I use disposable gloves, specifically those with some good texture and a bit thicker like Matt mentioned. I also wear disposable overalls with a hood, a full face mask, and a designated pair of shoes when I go under. I find it better as I don’t have to worry when I end up around rodent feces or the like and cuts down on the amount of laundry and cross contamination. Yes it costs a bit extra for the suit but I just build it into my pricing. The gloves are the same ones I wear while doing the inspection in the home. Just makes everything easier I feel.
I have some for the really nasty crawl spaces I have to get in but my god do I sweat!! They keep everything out but also keep it in. Made the mistake of farting once
