Ok I see it, Could it be a possibility they may have overloaded the panel and causing the last main breaker to melt so they moved the next 100amp to the circuit breaker slots?

It was almost like a hardened silicone, I noticed that also and I assumed they sealed those connections because of spray foam, I am just guessing that because I see spray foam making its way in from other openings. It was hardened, I touched it because I thought it was grease at first, almost like a hardened syrup or candy coated

Anything is possible. There appeared to be an overheating / arcing event that happened in that panel. That’s what you’ll want to report on during an actual inspection. Stay away from spending time figuring out why, ie. causation. We’re not required to determine causation of a defect. Just report on the actual defect(s) you observed.

Here’s my Crouse-Hinds sub panel from Thursday’s inspection. It was a mess as well. They used caulking in some areas where strain relief clamps should have been installed. There were MANY issues in this panel. I wrote very hard on the electrical in this home 😉

That was my first thought.
My second is… where is the (Back-fed) Breaker **Lock** for the 100A breaker?
I see where it is for the Original breaker that was removed, but cannot see one for the replacement!

I hope to hell there isn’t a giant bee hive in the wall above that panel, but it almost looks like honey.

I agree with David.
With everything observed, I would refer it to a qualified Licensed Electrician for _“further evaluation and repairs, which may include replacement of the Panel, Breaker(s), Conductors entering the panel due to damage and contamination, and any other components necessary as determined by the Electrician.”_

I studied on the breaker lock today but I don’t know how to tell if it’s there except by removing the breaker beside the 100amp, although I have no knowledge about the breaker lock kit except for what I googled earlier today.

That why you defer it to a qualified Electrician. That’s what they get paid the big bucks for!

It is interior wall, placed in middle of unit right near the units separation wall or party wall. Not saying that eliminates bees but, also panel is on first floor, and there is a second floor above it. But maybe that’s why they spray foamed around the panel

Yeah, probably not. On closer look, it looks like grease. Not sure why anyone would do that. My two guesses are to stop moisture intrusion, or to try to prevent spray foam from coming in, which you already mentioned.

Oh! Good point, there is a bathroom directly above, the panel was in a closet on first level within a bathroom then upstairs bathroom practically stacked right on top of lower bathroom

Another good reason to call out for an electrician. Was it a clothes closet or a closet where flammable materials might be stored, like towels? Was the panel clearance space compromised? And panels should not be in bathrooms.

Would you be able to answer me if I asked can these breakers be double tapped, I feel like I see some breakers with the plunging screw that obviously clamps one wire and then some breakers with the pan head screw that looks like it may clamp down 2 wires? I feel like I could feel your pain with the long hard writing of the report on this system

It was a 2x4 closet with elect. panel and water heater behind sliding bypass doors, in bathroom but half bath, only toilet and vanity
