Do you really agree with Obama!

Both of the parties/ Presidential road maps lead us off a cliff. That is why I am voting for neither, Bob Barr is getting my vote. If there is anything to look forward to this election, its watching the fearmongering campaign of the NeoConArtists blow up in their faces.

I respect your point of view Nick. Thanks for being honest.

As much as I don’t like McCain he is the best shot we have in the short term.

My hope is that with Palin at his side ,and the fact that he picked her, he realizes that his base is indeed conservative and that he will quicly loose their support if he strays to far from conservative principles. This gives conservatives an oppurtunity that is almost totaly lacking in an Obama administration.

My point is that if Obama is elected it will take far longer to undo the damage than if McCain is elected. I hope this helps you understand my position.

As to my post regarding Obama, I only post the ones that have some legs and have discouraged others from posting the more unfounded or poorly documented ones.

I predict that even if McCain was to somehow pull off this miracle and get elected he would be ignored by the public and go down as the most ineffective president ever as both the senate & congress will have democratic super majorities and will effectively be running the country.

A this point in history it appears that in John McCain’s case that the old adage of damned if you do & damed if you don’t applies.

Doesn’t that thought just five the warm fuzzies Joey.

Mikey, all of this was inevitable due to Bush’s foreign & domestic policies which wrecked our economy and trashed our world status with an illegal invasion of a sovereign nation. Neither of us can undue the despicable criminal acts Bush & his cronies perpetrated on the citizens of the United States or the world. This administration must be flushed out of our society if we are to stand a chance of healing, unfortunately this cleansing will include any candidate whose desire it is to cling to the past and move this failed agenda forward.

It was Bush brought us to this precipice and now we are in unchartered territory, where we go from here is anyones guess but I would suspect regardless of this presidential outcome we are in for hard times.

You totally discount the root cause of this mess and that is the bad mortgage paper and subsequent financial instrument created to peddle it.

Try to learn something will ya.

Here, this explains much of mess in a manner even you can understand.

I really like how nice we are to each other today is this going somewhere?

Mike,

Regarding the Bush Administration and the economic outlook, five of the ten largest point declines in history have so far occurred in September and October this year.

“If a man does not know what port he is steering for, no wind is favorable to him,” said philosopher Seneca in 4 BC 65 AD. Why am I constantly reminded of this quote when looking at some of the rather haphazard actions taken by our government to alleviate the financial turmoil?

Just watch the video and learn something. Trust me.

I don’t watch 60 min. anymore but the link was sent to me. It helps to be able to explain the mess we are in.

Just trying to help you out Joe.

Until we realize what really got us into this mess we are doomed to repeat it in the future.

Timeless

Can anyone explain to me how an Obama administration has ANY hope of fixing this mess?

I’m sure the very same thing was said by those who supported Whatshisname who ran against FDR.

Just as I expected. You **can’t **explain it.:frowning:

Anyone else?

Your right, I can’t explain how Obama will fix it economy, I guess we’ll just have to see how the Obama administration (I like how that rolls off your tongue) accomplish “the fix” in real time, question for you… Will Obama fix the economy in his first or second term?

The likelihood of Obama “fixing” the economy in any term is extremely remote.

It’s right up there with the possibility of Ron Paul being elected.

Obama wants to raise capital gains and income taxes at the worst possible time and is promising even more Social programs that have to be paid for.

I think the market is already discounting the possibility of an Obama administration as it tends to think ahead.

Note to Joe: Remember all that “sacrifice” that some called for post 9/11.
Well I guess it’s here.

I see the same problem with a McCain administration- a remote chance of the economy being fixed. You lament on the billions Obama seeks to spend on socialist programs and higher taxes on the rich, yet you seem to conveniently ignore than McSame wants to add $300 Billion to that bailout scam (I guess more tanking corporations who knowing made bad securities gambles deserve $440,000 weekend retreats ) and tax our health care. Communism is pretty much socialism.

I know Michael, you’re calling the Obamamites bluff on the economy. Problem is, McSame has an equally bad hand. Everyone folds.

Nick,
Is McCain saying he wants to add to it or take it as part of the 700B? I thought he was talking about it coming out of the 700B!

Randy is right.

That said, we should expect to see additional bail out programs when a if the current one is not enough.:frowning:

No matter who wins they will have a tough problem to fix.

My only point is that Obama’s plans are exactly the wrong thing to do and only ensure increased socialism.

If that’s what you want, go for it.

If communism makes you feel more secure than socialism, have at it!

I hear Nancy Pelosi wants to add more to it soon as well!

Nick,

please explain your reference to communism?

I am highly offended that you would consider McCain holding views anything close to that failed ideology.

He leans left to make deals with lefties(I think he is wrong to do so) but your way off the mark.
