Does this look like Hail Damage

Roof is in Michigan. I think it is, waiting for insurance adjuster to view.

Yes, but looks like old age, too.

Thanks Lon. That’s another issue. Nobody can really tell me the age of the roof. I’m guessing 12-13yrs old if not more.

We had a hail storm in my area in 2009 where the hailstones were softball sized. None of the damage looked this bad. That roof very well might have hail damage, but in my opinion it probably did not look much different prior to the most recent hailstorm. I would be surprised if the insurance company even wrote it for coverage.

From here it looks more like 20 - 25 years old, if not older.

Yes. This.

Looks like an old roof that got obliterated by hail that a young roof wouldn’t bat an eye about.

As others have said old age is a major factor. If all that was hail damage you’ll have plenty of other areas to compare it with such as damaged siding and broken windows.

If this is your place, Zillow says built in 1996. So roof is probably 29 years old.

Considering that pictured roof is red, this OP roof is white/gray…I’m guessing that’s not the home.

It’s my place but that roof was replaced about 10yrs ago. What I posted was a lake home we’re looking at purchasing. Sellers are in denial and if they’re not willing to replace we’re walking away from the deal. Appreciate all the responses.

Hail damage or not, the roof needs replaced. Period.

Agreed. Thanks!

That is what I saw. A gray roof.

Thanks for the clarification.
