i don’t think anyone said anything about professional but the amount of folks saying it is acceptable baffles me. maybe i am just too new, but this is not a good idea due to movement of the tree, growth of the tree, and a bridge for anytnhing with legs and climbing skills. and you guys don’t like my lack of capitals. at least i have enough knowledge to see this should be changed.
Certainly ain’t acceptable in my eyes.
I think you are actively dismantling defects.
Keep up the good work.
The tree should be removed. It will be seen as a liability for the homeowner’s insurance provider; the roots will damage the driveway and foundation; and the branches and tree trunk will someday damage the home’s roof and structure.
The house should be moved to a vacant lot in the desert. No trees, no rain, no gutters. SOLVED!
Afternoon, David. Hope you are well.
To remove a tree as a home owner is illegal in many areas in my neck of the woods. It comes with fines unless you are given permission by the municipality. You have to show proof the tree is causing undo damage. I have been involved in writing damaged structural reports.
When permitted, you have to plant trees in its place. The calculation required; equal to or grater than the radius of previous canopy.
As for tree roots affecting the foundation. Yes. I concur.
As well, tree limbs are the number one cause of mechanical roof damage.
Good post.
This makes me sad. I wish people all around the world had the freedom that I sometimes take for granted.
Here is my narrative:
“A large gutter toting tree was found close to the foundation and may cause structural damage. I recommend heavy pruning by a chainsaw artist to demonstrate your freedom to do whatever you want with YOUR tree.”
