Draft image: Full Basement

I’ve attached a new draft image to preview, before finalizing. I’d like to hear any valuable feedback from the forum.

It should be Footing, not footer, Water heater, not hot water heater.

You could also add drainage tiles and a sump crock and pump.

I concur, George , although a sump pump in my neck of the woods is 50/50. Typically gravity fed.

100% correct. Footer is a “slang” term that is used in the trades that is technically incorrect.

Another way to describe it would be Foundation Footing or Spread Footing (which is what is depicted).

On another note, most full basements don’t have a concrete wall running across the center as the image suggests. A centralized load bearing system such as this is typically constructed using a wooden or steel beam with columns for support. Those columns would sit on footing pads or piers below the basement floor.

Those dang hot water heaters always got me in trouble with the misses.

We don’t very often find the main floor to be a slab around here.

Might also note that the grade appears to be a little too close to the siding.

True, and no need for steps with that grade

A few cracks in the wall and a water puddle in the corner to make it accurate for my area. Maybe some efflorescence here and there.

Add in an egressable exit point - required.
