Ran into a house today with duct work going through the garage from one sise of house to other. What if any are your narrative suggestions. I know no registers are allowed, what about fire rating requirements for duct? Thanks for the help.

Down in this hellhole they call Florida I have seen it going from one place outside of the home through the roof to another room. I can only guess how expensive and how poorly it actually works.
